Jason Sanjay’s directorial debut Sigma received a special show of family support on its release day, October 2, 2026. Sangeetha Sornalingam, wife of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and former actor Vijay, and their daughter Divya Sasha attended an early morning screening of the film at Kamala Cinemas in Chennai.
Their appearance at the theatre attracted attention as the family came together to support Jason as he began his journey as a filmmaker.
Sangeetha and Divya Support Jason Sanjay
Videos and pictures from the theatre showed Sangeetha Sornalingam arriving at Kamala Cinemas with Divya Sasha. Divya was seen wearing a black T-shirt featuring the Sigma logo, reflecting her support for her brother’s first film as a director.
Jason Sanjay was also present at the theatre and shared the special occasion with his mother and sister.
Sangeetha’s appearance was particularly notable as she has largely stayed away from the public spotlight. Her presence at the screening, along with Divya, highlighted the family’s support for Jason’s directorial debut.
Vijay, who took office as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on May 10, 2026, was not seen at the screening. He has maintained a distance from the film’s promotions, respecting Jason’s wish for Sigma to be viewed independently while also handling his official responsibilities.
A Special Moment for Vijay’s Family
The presence of Sangeetha Sornalingam and Divya Sasha at the Sigma screening marked a notable public appearance for Vijay’s family. Both have generally maintained a low public profile, making their appearance at Jason’s first film screening particularly significant.
Their visit reflected the family’s support as Jason Sanjay took his first major step into filmmaking. With Sigma now in theatres, the young director has officially begun his cinematic journey with the backing of his family.
