Actor Teja Sajja is set to step into the world of reality television as the host of The Traitors Telugu, the Telugu adaptation of the popular international reality show franchise. Prime Video has announced that the series will premiere on October 15.
The upcoming show will feature 20 participants from different backgrounds competing in a game centred on trust, strategy, deception and betrayal.
Teja Sajja Introduces ‘The Traitors Telugu’
The makers recently shared a promotional video on Instagram announcing the show. The post carried the caption, “Droham, Drama, Dhamaka. Meeru Ready ah?” and confirmed that new episodes of The Traitors Telugu will arrive every Thursday from October 15.
In the video, Teja Sajja can be heard reflecting on the nature of betrayal, saying that people may have different reasons for betraying others, whether for love, power, war or victory, but betrayal itself remains unchanged.
Prime Video on Expanding the Franchise
Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, Prime Video (SVOD) and Amazon MGM Studios India, described The Traitors Telugu as an exciting addition to the unscripted entertainment space.
He highlighted the show’s emphasis on mind games and strategy and said that, following two successful Hindi seasons, Prime Video was pleased to expand the franchise into Telugu.
Madhok also spoke about Teja Sajja’s role as host, describing him as a strong choice for the Telugu edition and highlighting his charisma, spontaneity and connection with audiences.
SOL Productions on the Telugu Adaptation
Fazila Allana, Partner and Co-Founder of SOL Productions, said adapting The Traitors into Telugu provided an opportunity to explore universal themes such as trust, ambition, relationships and betrayal while incorporating the personality and cultural character of Telugu entertainment.
She added that the team aimed to create an immersive world while keeping the focus on the contestants and their personalities. Allana said the makers were looking forward to audiences debating the game, making predictions and choosing their favourites as the series progresses.
‘The Traitors Telugu’ Streaming Details
The Traitors Telugu will consist of 10 episodes and will be released over four weeks. New episodes will premiere every Thursday.
Hosted by Teja Sajja, the series will feature 20 personalities from different walks of life. The show will stream in Telugu with English subtitles on Prime Video, beginning October 15.
