The ongoing FICCI FRAMES 2026 featured a special conversation with actor Ayushmann Khurrana, who spoke about the changing face of Indian cinema and shared his admiration for veteran filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya. The media and entertainment convention is being held in Mumbai from September 29 to 30, 2026.
During the session, Khurrana highlighted Barjatya’s distinctive approach to storytelling and his ability to create films that connect with audiences across generations, particularly through stories centred on family, relationships and togetherness.
Ayushmann Khurrana Talks About Sooraj Barjatya
Speaking to the media, including LatestLY, Khurrana discussed his experience of working with Barjatya on their upcoming film Yeh Prem Mol Liya. He confirmed that the film is scheduled to release on November 27 and revealed that its trailer will arrive with Ramayana during Diwali.
Khurrana expressed his excitement about collaborating with the filmmaker and described Barjatya as a legendary director with a significant cinematic legacy. He also highlighted the director’s ability to bring families together through his films, adding that audiences would see the same quality in Yeh Prem Mol Liya.
Barjatya, who has been closely associated with Rajshri Productions, has built a filmography around family relationships, traditional values and celebrations of Indian culture. His notable films include Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994), Hum Saath-Saath Hain (1999) and Uunchai (2022).
What to Expect From ‘Yeh Prem Mol Liya’
Yeh Prem Mol Liya marks the return of the iconic Rajshri protagonist name “Prem” to the big screen after more than a decade. The film features Ayushmann Khurrana opposite Sharvari and combines a contemporary take on relationships with the traditions and warmth of a classic Indian joint family.
Khurrana has described the project as a heartwarming family story aimed at connecting with viewers across different age groups and generations.
The film also features an ensemble cast that includes Anupam Kher, Supriya Pathak, Seema Pahwa, Saumya Tandon, Shaad Randhawa and Swanand Kirkire.
‘Yeh Prem Mol Liya’ Release Details
Jointly produced by Rajshri Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films, the upcoming film features a celebratory soundtrack composed by Himesh Reshammiya.
The theatrical trailer of Yeh Prem Mol Liya is scheduled to be released alongside Ramayana during Diwali. The Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari-starrer is set to arrive worldwide in theatres on November 27, 2026.
