Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited mythological film Ramayana has begun its promotional campaign ahead of its planned Diwali release, with the team hosting a special event in Mumbai. YouTuber MrBeast was also among the guests at the event.
One of the key moments came when Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Rama in the film, lifted a Shiv Dhanush on stage. Before picking it up, the actor folded his hands and offered prayers. He later carefully placed the Dhanush back.

Several members of the film’s core cast and crew attended the promotional event, including Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey and Namit Malhotra. However, the event was reportedly delayed by nearly four hours, following which several members of the media chose to boycott it.
Ramayana features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, while Sai Pallavi portrays Goddess Sita. KGF star Yash will make his Bollywood debut as Ravana.
The film also features Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari, Arun Govil as King Dashrath, Kunal Kapoor as Lord Indra and Adinath Kothare as Bharat.
‘Ramayana’ To Release In Two Parts
Ramayana is planned as a two-part franchise. The first instalment is expected to release on November 9 this year during Diwali, while the second part is currently in production and is scheduled to arrive in 2027.
The film is also set to be released in several major Indian languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Love & War’ Also In The Line-Up
Apart from Ramayana, Ranbir Kapoor is also set to appear alongside his wife Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War.
On September 24, the makers unveiled Ranbir’s first-look poster from the film. The poster features the actor in a rugged appearance, with a blood-stained sleeve and a bullet mark visible on his shirt.
Sharing the poster, the makers wrote, “Woh rutba, woh raub, woh junoon! Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War on 21st January 2027 See you at the movies!”
Love & War is scheduled to release on January 21, 2027.
